The Phoenix Scorpions Field Hockey Club is proud to present the 4th Annual
Phoenix Cactus Classic Field Hockey Tournament, to be held Saturday, January 26th
through Sunday, January 27th, 2008, in Phoenix, Arizona.
New water-based artificial turf provided by the City of Phoenix!!!

All Men’s division games will be played on Artificial Turf. For all other divisions
however, based on the number of teams and the schedule, each team may have to play
at the most, one game on grass. Games begin at 7:00 am each day. The tournament
will be over around 4:00 pm Sunday. National hockey rules will apply.

All teams will be guaranteed at least 4 games of at least 40-minutes each over the
two days. Teams will be registered on a first come first serve basis. The tournament
will be a round robin or divisional format, depending on the number of registered
teams. Mens Division winners will receive the Dr. Saini Memorial Floating Trophy.
Top teams from all divisions will be presented with an award for each player.
REGISTRATION
- Each team is required to submit a registration
form
- Each player is required to complete and sign a waiver form
- Registration forms and appropriate team fee are due by January 7, 2008. Only checks
or money orders are acceptable. Registration will be limited to the first teams
that submit a registration form with team fee. Payments must be made to “Phoenix
Scorpions”.
- Please register on-line, or
fill out and mail or e-mail the registration form.
CANCELLATION POLICY
For a full refund, cancellations must be received in writing by January 11th,
2008. Thereafter, cancellations will be non-refundable.
UMPIRES
Each team must provide at least one mandatory “named” official to umpire games during
the tournament.
TOURNAMENT BANQUET
Lunch will be provided both days. You will also be able to mingle with hockey
friends on Saturday, January 26th for a Banquet Dinner for all teams
participating in the tournament. The cost for this dinner is included in the player
fee for each registered player. Additional dinner tickets may be purchased for $10
each for non-playing guests. Banquet details will be provided later.
HOTEL
Holiday Inn Phoenix West is the official Tournament Hotel. A bulk rate of $109 per
room per night has been allocated for this Tournament – a great rate at this time
of the year in Phoenix. This includes a full hot breakfast buffet.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
- January is the best time to be in Phoenix… sunny blue skies are guaranteed and the
daytime temperature can be anywhere from 60-80 degrees in late January. Bring your
sunscreen!
- Lunch is provided to all teams and spectators on both days.
- Restrooms are available right next to the fields.
- There is ample parking adjacent to the fields.
After receiving your completed registration form and team fee, an email will be
sent confirming your registration. Follow-up materials will be sent after the field
of teams is finalized.
